Past
The Nortelco Group history started more than 65 years ago. British Import A/S, Nortelco’s predecessor, was established in 1945 as a sole agent. The company gradually developed into a marketing and engineering company with agencies from several countries with focus on electrical and electronic products. In the late 1970s the company was sold and later became a part of the ABB Group. Nortelco got its present name in 1981. Today’s owners bought the company in 1990 and started to acquire related small businesses for restructuring – all related to its electrical, electronic and audiovisual areas. Nortelco’s audio and audiovisual business areas were sold in the early 2000s.
 
Present
In the 2010s Nortelco is back to its origin and core business – B2B electrical and electronic products. Our main focus is leading agencies in niche markets, together with a high degree of competence/ know-how and customer service. Today we have in excess of 60 agencies from around the world. We cover both product and project deliveries. The Nortelco Group consists of the companies Nortelco AS (electrical products) and Nortelco Electronics AS (electronics):

Nortelco AS is focusing on the offshore, maritime, utility and power solutions markets either directly or through wholesalers. Products include cable and pipe transits, fire protection systems, hand and powertools for utilities, heat shrink tubing, insulators, electrical tape, maritime lighting, signal equipment, EX products, electrical material, maritime heaters, navigation aids, industrial power solutions; rectifiers, traction chargers, inverters, UPS, industrial batteries.

Nortelco Electronics AS main target markets are education, research & development, large electronic & communication companies, defense, broadcasting etc. Products include oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, power supplies, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers, frequency counters & timers, microelectronics testequipment, video test, telecom test, PXI & cPCI, data loggers, fiberoptic test, boundary scan test, multiplexers , source meters, EMC test, EMC componets, EMC training etc.

Our head office is located in Oslo, Norway. We have sales offices in Haugesund, Norway and Copenhagen and Århus, Denmark and cover Sweden within selected product areas with plans for further expansion.
 
Future
Our strategy is to strengthen and refine our business areas through organic growth, new agencies and potential acquisitions or mergers of related enterprises with synergies to present business. We have a Scandinavian focus and a long term perspective.
